“Innovators from across disciplines congregated to discuss the latest in health innovations. Participants included computer programmers, doctors, healthcare administrators, start-up companies, investors, and thought leaders. Themes ranged from patient engagement in their own healthcare to mobile devices to software to find the lowest cost prescription medications nearest you.  This event is organized by the Wireless Life Science Association (WLSA).

Eric Topol, guru of healthcare innovation and cardiologist, spoke.  One of his slides compared a doctor’s bag from 1911 to his present day doctor’s bag.  Both contain instruments to assess a patient’s heart beat, reflexes, blood pressure, and so on.  One big difference is that instruments in the modern doctor’s bag are linked together wirelessly.”
