HealthPrize recently raised $3 million in a new round of funding led by Mansa Capital to help its global expansion, with Mansa Capital also having the option to invest an additional $2 million over the course of the upcoming year. HealthPrize, a Connecticut-based medication adherence company, offers mobile and online resources (including educational features and rewards) to help patients take their medications. HealthPrize also collects information, such as accurate prescription histories and market research about patients verified to be on particular therapies, for their pharmaceutical customers, and offers branded pharmaceutical programs for conditions like hypertension, acne and diabetes.

HealthPrize’s platform is sold as a Software-as-a-Service to pharmaceutical companies on a brand-by-brand basis. Patients are then generally invited to the program through online initiatives and campaigns or via “starter-kits” distributed by their doctors at the point of prescription.
