PatientSafe Solutions partners with Telus Health to bring PatientTouch to Canada

PatientInfoScreenTelus Health, the healthcare arm of Canadian mobile operator Telus, has made a strategic investment in PatientSafe Solutions, a WLSA member, to help scale adoption of PatientTouch, an all-in-one healthcare offering for the iPod Touch, into Canada. PatientSafe’s PatientTouch system consists of an iPod Touch equipped with a hardy case outfitted with a barcode scanner that can be used by hospitals for medication administration, specimen collection, infant care, care interventions and care team communications. Telus Ventures Vice-President Mathew George praised the PatientTouch system’s successs in the United States and expressed his excitement about “bringing the technology north of the border to improve quality of care and positively impact patient outcome.”
